Happy Spring!

Love the free blog layouts at http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/ - I could get addicted to changing the look of my blog every day! Loved this one for Easter though!

Hasn't felt much like spring here this week - the weekend was warm - although windy. But Patrick was sick all weekend - the fever that kept 1/2 the kids in his class out of school last Friday finally hit him. He missed his last day of school before spring break started and was pretty much down for the count all weekend. Hannah had chosen to go to Dollywood for Spring Break and we ended up having to cancel that trip due to Patrick's fever. Only other symptom he had was a sore throat and post nasal drip. Felt good Monday so we headed to the Greenville Zoo where we saw some of the newest zoo members, these "baby" giraffes and the lions:

And my personal favorite - the Galapagos Tortoise. I have no idea how old this one is - but it must be pretty old! And due to some sort of injury he's missing the toes/claws on his front right foot so he walks even slower than normal! But I love him!

It was VERY windy Monday with gusts 30-40 mph! By the time baseball practice came around Monday night it was way too windy and getting cold. Turns out we had very light snow flurries here late Monday into Tuesday. Owen was in Seneca Tuesday where they evidently had quite a few flurry episodes. Nothing sticking to the ground though...imagine - snow in april in the South!
Hopefully that will be our last cold snap!

I guess practicing baseball in the cold and wind was too much for Patrick - he was pretty puny yesterday - he was fine when we ventured out with friends to play at an indoor playground/arcade but by the time we headed home he was down for the count again - no fever - just no energy! For those of you who know Patrick you'll be very surprised to hear that he slept past 9:00 this morning - I don't think that's EVER happened!

So we're staying in today - it was cold this morning - low 30's but the sun is shining again. It's not windy now but it's supposed to start blowing 20-30mph. But the 70's are coming again for this weekend - should be a great weekend to celebrate Easter!

I'll share some pictures of Patrick practicing baseball - some of these are outside, some are inside - we used the Church gym for practice one night because of rain:

He DEFINITELY has his eye on the ball here!

Love the look of determination in his face - this has become our new computer home screen.

Okay - so he doesn't keep his eye on the ball at all times - we're still working on that one! But he's getting there!

He's not too sure about that catching thing either!

Looking forward to attending some Greenville baseball games this spring - and I think we'll have to through in a Braves game or too as well. You all know how Patrick likes to totally immerse himself in whatever his "thing" of the moment. I'm sure he'll be rattling off baseball stats in no time at all!

TTFN! Have a great day!
