Happy Halloween!!!!

Even though I LOVE October I'm so glad it's over....this month (especially the last 2 weeks) has just been crazy with activities. But now they've all come to an end. A little sad...but I'm looking forward to not being so busy!


Thursday was Hannah's field day - much warmer than when Patrick had his on Tuesday. I'll share a few pics from her field day:

Yesterday were Fall parties for both kids. When we got home from school it was time to carve the pumpkins and get ready for trick or treating. Each year we get together with a few other families in the neighborhood. We hook a trailer to a truck, cover the trailer in hay, pile the kids in and take them all around they neighborhood - actually I should say the men take the kids around while we women stay behind to pass out candy. Which involves sitting in rockers on the front porch! I think we have the better end of that deal! And of course the kids had a great time!

Usually when we carve pumpkins we use one those templates that allows you to carve really intricate pictures - this one is a vampire getting ready to bite his victim:

Patrick dressed up as a vampire this year and Hannah wanted to be a cowgirl. Thanks to my sister Cindy for sending us the "Jesse" (from Toy Story II) costume she made a few years back. With a few adjustments it fit Hannah perfectly - although she refused to wear the red yarn wig :). She also wanted to wear the cowboy hat we picked up for her a few years back at a rodeo at Clemson University:

As far as candy is concerned things worked out really well this year - because of her braces Hannah can't have sticky stuff (like Laffy Taffy, Starburst or Skittles) and Patrick doesn't like chocolate. Already this morning they've divied up their candy into 2 piles - Hannah's and Patrick's!

One more note before I close - straightening up the house today and settling in to watch the Georgia vs. Florida game at 3:30. Report Cards came out this week - Patrick made all "E"s - equivalent at the first grade level to an "A". Hannah made the honor roll with 6 "A"s and 1 "B". her "B" was in "writing". Funny thing though - in our day and time her "90" in Writing would have been an "A" not a "B" - around here an "A" grade is from 93-100 - so they're on an 8 point scale instead of a 10 point one. Very good 1st nine weeks for both of them!
