As most of you know we purchased the lot next door about 2 years ago. In the fall we have put out dried corn for the deer to eat. Owen put up a "deer cam" (motion activated camera attached to a tree) to catch pictures of the deer that came in. We knew there were deer around (they're always eating our neighbor's flowers) but we had never actually seen any in our yard or lot.
Almost immediately we began getting pictures of them. Usually a doe with 2 or 3 yearlings...some with antlers just beginning to bud. This year we've seen a few more...and have actually seen a bigger buck.
So last night when Owen came home 3 deer were laying down in the back part of our lot. When we went and stood on the driveway you could see the 3 of them with their heads up just looking at us. Owen started making deer calls at them and their ears would perk up - seemed to be a doe and 2 yearlings. As we moved closer they stood up, stretched and walked through the bushes on the edge of our lot into the yard behind us - guess they were tired of Owen grunting at them!
Anyway - the camera wasn't going off - they were out of reach of the sensor - but here's a few pictures of some of the deer we've seen feasting on dried corn (and the squash, tomatoes, okra, etc. that we planted in the garden on our lot this past summer!)
Here they are helping themselves to some corn - I think 5 is the most we've seen at one time.

Patrick would say these guys are "having a meeting"!
That's all for now - off to run errands! See ya soon!
